Today we were delighted to welcome author and illustrator Viviane Schwarz, along with Marion from the Goethe-Institute. Following introductions and a brief revision of key German phrases, Viv shared her book, I am Henry Finch. The children responded enthusiastically to the expressive reading and to Viv’s insightful explanation of her illustrations. 

Pupils particularly enjoyed the interactive nature of the workshop, with some adding their own fingerprints and drawings to Viv’s artwork. Children posed many thoughtful questions, all of which Viv answered with great care and enthusiasm.

After break, the children had the opportunity to design and illustrate their own characters, producing a range of highly imaginative pieces. Well done to all involved, and sincere thanks to Viv, Marion and the Goethe-Institute for proving such a memorable and enriching experience.
