Today we welcomed Kyle and Delta to tell us about the very special job they do and how they help people. They are from K9 Search and Rescue Northern Ireland. They search for missing children and adults including hikers, Alzheimer and Dementia patients or lost vulnerable children. Delta uses her sense of smell to detect the scent of people and barks when she finds them to alert Kyle.  
Recently, Kyle and Delta travelled to Turkey to search for people after the Earthquake. Delta successfully found a family of 3 people (a mum and her 2 children) and they were rescued from under the rubble of their fallen house. Delta wears special shoes to protect her feet when walking through the rubble and has lights on her harness so Kyle knows where she is at all times. Delta received a bravery award at Crufts this year to recognise her actions. 
We just loved petting Delta and learning about her special job.
