In World Around Us, we are continuing our topic Travel and Transport and this week we thought about boats. We looked at all the various types of boats that are used. We learned about French botanist and explorer, Jeanne Baret and how she disguised herself as a man so that she could board a boat and travel around the world.
We were tasked with making our own boats, out of materials like tinfoil and plastic cartons, that would float on water. We discussed density and how for thing to float they need to be less dense than water.
