Swimming Sessions – Autumn Term 2018
October 4, 11, 18, 25
November 8, 15, 22, 29
P5 to P7 pupils went fishing in June. We managed to catch some fish despite the warm sunny day! Click on the photo for more pictures.
P6 and P7 took part in Cycling Proficiency classes. We practised on our bikes and had to learn the Highway Code. Click on the photo for more pictures.
Our Trip to Greenhill
P6 and P7 went to Greenhill for a residential visit. We took part in some outdoor activities and enjoyed staying overnight with our friends. Most of us enjoyed the shallow-water bouldering the best. Click on the photo for more pictures.
P6 and P7 did an experiment to see how smoking one cigarette would affect the lungs. A cigarette was attached to the top of a plastic bottle. When the bottle was squeezed it acted like breathing. Cotton wool inside the bottle acted like the lungs. At the end of the experiment we could see that the tar from the cigarette had made the cotton wool turn yellow. Tar from a cigarette would collect in the lungs in the same way. We really didn’t like the smell! Click on the photo for more pictures.
Deaf Awareness Workshop
P5, 6 and 7 had a ‘Deaf Awareness’ workshop when they learned about some of the the causes of deafness and ways in which people deal with hearing loss.
World Book Day
We dressed up as a character from a favourite book. Can you tell who is who?
Visit to Armagh Planetarium
P6 and P7 visited Armagh Planetarium as part of our topic on Space. We learned about the planets, rockets and the International Space Station. Click on the picture to see more.
Our Viking Topic
Our WW1 Topic
P6 and P7 have been learning about WW1 as a World Around Us topic. As well as learning about the history of the period, we drew images of poppies in art and made tanks in Science and Technology.
